Novel coupled channel framework connecting the quark model and lattice QCD for the near-threshold $$D_s$$ states

A novel framework is proposed to extract near-threshold resonant states from finite-volume energy levels of lattice QCD and is applied to elucidate structures of the positive parity $$D_s$$. The quark model, the quark-pair-creation mechanism and $$D^{(*)}K$$ interaction are incorporated into the Hamiltonian effective field theory. The bare $$1^+$$ $$cbar s$$ states are almost purely given by the states with heavy-quark spin bases. The physical $$D^*_{s0}(2317)$$ and $$D^*_{s1}(2460)$$ are the mixtures of bare $$cbar s$$ core and $$D^{(*)}K$$ component, while the $$D^*_{s1}(2536)$$ and $$D^*_{s2}(2573)$$ are almost dominated by bare $$cbar{s}$$. Furthermore, our model well reproduce the clear level crossing of the $$D^*_{s1}(2536)$$ with the scattering state at a finite volume.

Oxidation reaction kinetics on Ti(0001) surface studied by real-time photoelectron spectroscopy

Takakuwa, Yuji*; Ogawa, Shuichi*; Ishizuka, Shinji*; Yoshigoe, Akitaka; Teraoka, Yuden

Shokubai, 47(5), p.352 - 357, 2005/08

Oxidation reactions of Ti(0001) surfaces were monitored by real-time photoelectron spectroscopy with high brilliant synchrotron radiation and He-I resonance line. An oxygen adsorption model and ultra-thin oxide layers formation processes were reviewed on the basis of time evolutions of the adsorbed oxygen amount, oxidation states, electronic states and the work function, which were obtained from photoelectron spectra for Ti 2p and O 1s core levels as well as the valence band.

Anticipations of NRF-based NDA of nuclear material using monochromatic $$gamma$$-ray beams

no journal, ,

The NRF-base NDA using monochromatic $$gamma$$-rays would be used in nuclear security for secure detection of NM in thick shield and also for precise checking of interior structures of detected / suspicious objects. This NDA also would be used in nuclear safeguards for precise quantification of U/Pu isotopes in high radiation background, such as spent fuel assemblies / melted fuel debris in a canister. It is also useful for precise measurement of quantities of minor actinide isotopes in ADS (Accelerator Driven Sub-critical System; for transmutation of long-half-life minor actinides (MA)) fuels before and after irradiation in the ADS reactor core. In this presentation, we show actual NRF-NDA methods for these objects.
